| Tripp Harrison began his career as a bit of a
surprise. While attending business school in Atlanta, GA, he decided to take an
art class for fun. Little did he know it would be the beginning of a lifelong
fascination. |
|
Over the course of the next few months, his ambition and
interest changed into what would become his life's work.
Intrigued by almost every medium he
has explored, Harrison has reached a level of mastery almost unheard of for his
young age, primarily focusing on alkyds (oils) and acrylics.

His latest works are a reflection of his love for the
water, with an emphases on the beautiful colors and substance of Florida and
the Bahamas. It is his desire to express what he feels when looking at
different objects and textures that inspires him to paint. Yet this talented
artist has none of the affectations and emotional ponderings of the typical art
scene. He is perfectly at home with a fishing pole or playing in the backyard
with his 2 year old daughter, McKenzie.

A native
of Miami, Harrison moved to Atlanta in 1983. After discovering his love of
painting, he began a full time career in the arts at the age of 21. Immediately
he began to draw the attention of the community and was featured quickly in
local news. Harrison's love for the water, however, soon drew him back to his
beloved Florida. Now married, he and wife Kathleen, along with 2 year old
McKenzie, have chosen to make their home in picturesque Central
Florida.
Harrison's work can be found in numerous private and corporate
collections. His works have received considerable acclaim including magazine
covers and national competitions.
"My landscapes are based on what I see in nature . . .
as well as how I feel about it. Landscapes are my way of making nature stand
still long enough for me to take it all in." |
