Kevin Brant

Kevin R. Brant is a Florida raised artist who started his love of painting at the early age of 8, surpassed only by his equal love of fishing. Kevin spent his youth with a paintbrush in one hand and his tackle box, rod and reel in the other.

Kevin

It didn't take long before he blended his talents and began producing and marketing his own unique style of gamefish sportswear, prints and other product line items which are sold though many of the most popular retail outlets.

Kevin's gamefish art has been featured on the covers of numerous gamefish tournament magazines and he has donated originals and prints to many of the charities who sponsor tournaments throughout Florida.

His latest published work is seen in the Florida Sportsman magazines newest book titled "Sport Fish of Florida" which features 231 full color illustrated species painted by Kevin.

If you have ever gazed down through the crystal clear blue water of the gulfstream and watched the sun's rays dance as tehy penetrate deeper into the depths below you - you then can understand how vast the ocean really is. This painting captures the feel of trolling the depths of the open blue water and the wounder,"is there really anything down there".

"All of my life I have lived on or near the water and most of that time with a fishing pole in hand. As a young boy I would spend countless hours sitting on docks, piers, and old wooden bridges gazing down into the water and watch the abundance and diversity of marine life. Many times I would watch the Snook as they lay in the shadows ready to ambush anything that past by too close. "Homefield Advantage" got it's name from a pro football player that while admiring the orginal painting commented, "Looks like a homefield advantage".

"As an artist and fisherman it has been my goal to capture both the fish and it's natural habitat in the most realistic way that m talents allow. My goal is always to become more realistic in my presentations so that the subject that I paint can be related to the viewer in a way that makes the scene a personal experience."
