If you have ever
gazed down through the crystal clear blue water of the gulfstream and watched
the sun's rays dance as tehy penetrate deeper into the depths below you - you
then can understand how vast the ocean really is. This painting captures the
feel of trolling the depths of the open blue water and the wounder,"is there
really anything down there". |

"All of my life I
have lived on or near the water and most of that time with a fishing pole in
hand. As a young boy I would spend countless hours sitting on docks, piers, and
old wooden bridges gazing down into the water and watch the abundance and
diversity of marine life. Many times I would watch the Snook as they lay in the
shadows ready to ambush anything that past by too close. "Homefield Advantage"
got it's name from a pro football player that while admiring the orginal
painting commented, "Looks like a homefield advantage". |

"As an artist and fisherman it has been my goal to capture both the
fish and it's natural habitat in the most realistic way that m talents allow.
My goal is always to become more realistic in my presentations so that the
subject that I paint can be related to the viewer in a way that makes the scene
a personal experience." |
