While earning a bachelors in Art Education at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, Hohn also worked as an Art Director for a growing advertising agency. In 1985, John moved to Florida and began teaching Elementary Art in Palm Beach County where he has twice been nominated by his school for "Teacher of the Year". In 1992, John began exhibiting his watercolors in juried Florida art shows. He has since won numerous awards of distinction at SunFest, South Miami, Fernandina Shrimp Fest, Artigras and Vero's Under the Oaks to name a few. His originals are included in corporate and private collections. He had a very successful first gallery showing at "The League of Florida Craftsmen Gallery" in Jensen Beach recently. Currently John has several originals and over 100 open edition prints. His subject matters are local treasure coast scenes of Florida, the Keys, Bahamas and tropical garden/fish and game fish. Each print or original is available in standard size mats of OFF WHITE, CREAM YELLOW, and BIMINI BLUE (Turquoise).
