"Since childhood I have had a fascination for
figurative art; and life as I saw it. Facial expressions, body language and
attitudes; millions of people, each one different. I drew them, painted them,
used models-and created new people from my imagination. I continued in this
vein until I discovered the third dimension - sculpture! I was now able to
discard illusion, to create physical attitudes to be seen and touched from
every angle. " |
"What a delight when the viewer smiles at a piece of
my work, when they recognize someone they know, or even themselves in happiness
or perhaps sorrow." "This is my work, this is what I do - in steel, ceramic, bronze
or resin - these are my people. I've produced them from table to
life-size." |
